if this is a thread about one's first gti, that would be the white with blue interior, '84 8V i got way back before my senior year of college... in '95 :-) ran like a champ.

the first one i ever drove was as a junior in HS. another white '84, it belonged to my friend's stepdad. he snuck it out one afternoon while the folks were away. twisty backroads of new hampshire... having had my license for a week or so, i persuaded my bro-dawg to let me take the wheel - and wrapped the front end around a phone pole! man was that a bummer. it still gave me the bug tho!
